King David Is on the Move

Ladies and Gentleman,

This Saturday, myself along with other ministers will be gathering to celebrate and support in song what GOD is doing in the life of one Ms. Nikeya Green, Ms. Plus Illinois 2008, as she gains momentum for the Ms. Plus America Paegant to be held in Dallas, TX, later this year. This will be one of the classiest social networking events you will have ever attended, as we see GOD taking the saints to new places while the mission remains the same: shine the LIGHT, minister to others, glorify the FATHER. Chicago Rapper Announces Retirement from Genre

CHICAGO, IL- “People needed to hear what GOD was saying and still do,” states David Eagles, known to many in ministry and music circles as King David tha Vessel, openly discussing for the first time his retirement from the field of CHRISTian Rap. “I’ll continue in what I’ve been called to, just not primarily in this fashion.” Well respected by his peers, as well as the church in general, KD looks with a detailed eye on what has been and what will be, all while making sure not to take for granted what’s taking place in the now. “It’s been an amazing time, truthfully”, he divulges, speaking reflectively on a career that includes underground success as a member of No Judas, as well as groundbreaking ministry in some once ‘off-limits’ media outlets and venues in and out of the “church” arena. “I’ve seen GOD do some things that I was expecting, but not, you know? Personally, I had no idea what GOD would do with me as far as this was concerned, but I’m so glad HE did what HE did and now, I’m in a position to do other things, which is something else I didn’t expect to take shape as it has.” The diverse MC, whose first and only solo project, “In SO many WorDz”, has garnered strong national physical radio and internet airplay while becoming a MySpace favorite of those looking for something authentic and redefining from the Gospel Rap community, freely talks about ending his stay in a genre of music many still feel is not a viable vehicle of ministry. “I thank GOD for what I’ve experienced with this; from the people I’ve met and talked to, to the venues we’ve taken this thing to, to even kind of pioneering certain things. I don’t really think I could have asked for more with this. GOD really did do exceeding abundantly with it all and it made people think twice about whether or not GOD actually had anything to do with rap or rappers.” KD expresses no regrets in walking away. “I’ve got to move with GOD and stay in step with HIM; I can’t hang on for dear life and miss my season in other things and damage that in which GOD has worked to establish. GOD is a GOD of progression, so I’m just progressing.” KD will stay active in music ministry, and without disclosing details, promises a “prolific” new project later in the year. “It’s going to be awesome and very, very different”, he states with guarded enthusiasm, fighting hard to hide his huge smile. In the meanwhile, KD stresses that his ministry will be sure to honor lasting commitments as well as continue to publish its highly popular devotionals, which KD reminds, “…have so much more to do with than just music or coming from a music seat.” KD thanks everyone who’s been a part of what he’s been blessed to do thus far. “It’s been incredible and I’m honored. Good, bad, or indifferent, there are so many people who have played a part in me being where I am and going where I’m headed. Every person and every experience has meant something lasting to me, and so I’m grateful for them all. I’ll be back, just on something a little different!” Stay tuned!

KD offers as a parting gift a new single as well as some of the live music from concerts he’s done over the past year, which will be available soon via www.myspace.com/kingdavidthavessel .
