Gifts and Life Lessons

The 2nd Annual “Trunk Event” Tour Offers a Day of Pampering and Music for the Soul to Young Adults College-Bound in Chicago on July 27th, 2008 at the Green Dolphin
(CHICAGO IL) May 27, 2008- Entering a new chapter in life sometimes is challenging. For many students embarking on this journey requires support, love and adjustment.

Better Love Yourself - BLY prepares and offers solutions to this with the 2nd annual “Trunk Event.” These trunks are filled with essentials needed for campus living. Words of wisdom and encouragement will be spoken through a series of workshops, seminars, a keynote speaker and a special music performance by BLY’s Founder and Executive Director Terisa Griffin. “The Trunk Event” will take place July 12th through August 2nd from 2:00PM to 9:00PM, in several cities nationwide. There are teams in each city who devote their time and pull their resources by uniting together making this dream become reality for students.

“The Trunk Event” is geared towards college bound young women and men. The day kicks-off with an all-inclusive event - a reception plus panels and workshops discussing inspirational and wellness programs. Participants can also relax and rejuvenate at the Day Spa Treatments offered throughout the day.

Terisa Griffin uses her celebrity status and vision allowing this next generation to accomplish goals and secure their future in academics. “The Trunk Event is a day of giving to our future, pampering the body and nurturing the soul through music,” says Terisa Griffin, Founder and Executive Director of Better Love Yourself. “My nonprofit Better Love Yourself Inc. NFP was designed to help first time college students with important essential as they prepare for school. They get a chance to start over from scratch adjusting to a new life and building self-esteem while learning to love and accept one’s self in the process.”

The event would not be complete without a few final words of inspiration from motivational guest speakers, followed by the presentation of the trunks. Each recipient will receive a trunk filled with items that are essential for dorm living such as comforters, sheets, school supplies, towels, cleaning items, etc. There are also various donations from our individual BLY Trunk Sponsors, Nielsen Group, American Family Insurance, Coleman Development and Management Planning Institute.
The night will conclude with a music extravaganza with national recording artist Terisa Griffin and various other entertainers (to be determined by market), soothing fans with smooth soul performances.
