Dennis Snipe: Focus Talk

DENNIS SNIPE

Since the very beginning, talk show host and motivational speaker, Dennis Snipe was destined for true greatness, and that fact was extremely clear from just a mere glance at the incredible intensity and passion demonstrated during his numerous performances in church and high school.

As a child, Dennis served as Master of Ceremonies for many musicals and performed in countless plays and theatrical events sponsored by his home church, True Believers Missionary Baptist Church and his high school Saint Willibrord Catholic, where he sang in the Concert and Gospel Choirs and performed in the school’s adaptation of “Bye – Bye Birdie.”

It was at True Believers Missionary Baptist Church, during a Black History month event that Dennis delivered a rousing rendition of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, which afforded him a city – wide honorable mention from late journalist and African – American Historian, Vernon Jarrett.

At the tender age of nine, Dennis began his radio broadcasting career at the old WMPP AM in East Chicago Heights, Illinois. His father, Reverend Dennis H. Snipe, Sr., was the host of a radio show there called “Christ’s Prayer Mission for the Poor.” The gospel music show aired for sixteen years on several different radio stations in and around Chicago. It was during these impressionable years that Dennis developed the unique sound and interviewing style he is known for today.

In February ’06, Dennis Snipe Enterprises was formed making way for 3 entities that display Dennis’ many talents which include cooking/Jackrabbit’s Pastries and Fine Baked Goods, voice-acting & public speaking/Unissance Media, and community activism/ “FOCUSTALK” w/ Dennis Snipe.

Pincham, musician Branford Marsalis, motivational speaker Willie Jolley and writer Kevin Powell just to name a few.

Presently, Dennis is the Assistant Operations Director at Kennedy – King College’s radio station, 89.3 WKKC “The Official Radio Station of the City Colleges of Chicago”, and he spends a great deal of his time encouraging young people and adults as a motivational speaker.

Although he commands a hectic schedule, Dennis serves as the Executive Pastor for Higher Ground Community Church in Calumet City, Illinois, member of South Suburban Toastmasters Club #5534, Director of Communications for SUPPORT LIFE, an organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to those with Cancer and related illnesses.
