Nyquist Appointed President of Moody Bible Institute

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (ChristianPRgroup.com) - Dr. Paul Nyquist, President of Avant Ministries, has been announced the ninth president of Moody Bible Institute this morning at a chapel service on their Chicago campus.

Dr. Nyquist has been the President of Avant Ministries since 2001. He leaves Avant after providing many years of strong leadership and visionary planning. Through his leadership Avant Ministries pioneered not only the Short-Cycle Church Planting philosophy, but also began a Joint Venture program to creatively partner with North American churches. In addition, Avant Ministries recently created a shared services alliance with CrossWorld that will make the mission more efficient. "We have been blessed by his (Nyquist) service and leadership," said Dean Callison, Avant's Vice President of Development.

While blessed by the leadership of Dr. Nyquist, Avant is equally proud and supportive of his move to Moody Bible Institute. "It is an honor that Paul was recognized for his efforts and leadership abilities," said Grant Morrison, Avant's Canadian Director. "MBI, just like Avant, has an important and valuable history in the evangelical world. We are excited to see how God will continue to bless and utilize both organizations in the future."

Nyquist will officially assume the role of president of MBI on June 1, 2009.

Founded in 1892, Avant Ministries is one of the oldest missionary sending agencies in the United States. Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, Avant is a non-denominational ministry which recruits, equips, supports and serves missionaries in over twenty countries globally.

Avant exists to plant vibrant, mature, reproducing churches where the church does not exist. The goal of Avant is to produce a biblical, mature, reproducing church in as short a time as possible, trusting God to achieve amazing results beyond what we can even imagine.
